Septic cobra
Fun in an RV Chapter 394
This morning, I went to empty my septic holding tank (black water). There was so much force, the drain hose popped up like a hooded cobra, swaying and spraying, helping fertilize the side yard. Thankfully, I’m the only one in the park.
Then, I tried to fill the fresh water holding tank. Water starts overflowing off the top of the roof of the rv. Flipping valves here and there did nothing, so I turned off the water and go inside. I noticed the hall bath is full of water, lift the toilet lid and it’s full of water.
Logic would say ‘flush the toilet’ Nathan and let the water out through the tank. All good thinking aside from the air bubble floating just under the toilet valve.
Commence Ole Faithful in the face.
A few gags and heaves later, towels were down, and I had to run back outside to stop whatever was happening. Then the outside door handle broke, stranding me outside for a few minutes. Finally back inside, I’ve stopped the water and figured out the problem.
All of this was in fifty-degree rainy weather.
